Published in Le Petit Vingtième from 1932 to 1934 under the title The Adventures of Tintin, reporter in the Orient, the story of Cigars of the Pharaon appeared in the form of a black and white album in 1934.
Sent by his newspaper, Le Petit Vingtième for a report in the Orient, Tintin meets the Egyptologist Philémon Siclone, a meeting which will take him to Egypt to the tomb of the pharaoh Kih-Oskh.
Despite himself, our hero then finds himself confronted with arms and opium trafficking. His adventures then take him to Arabia, then to India, to the fictional kingdom of Rawhajpoutalah.
With humor and lightness, Hergé develops a plot where curses, secret societies and dangers of all kinds mingle.
